- Ethics - moral belief that influences people's behaviour, attitudes & ideas.
- Code of Conduct - a set of rules outlining the responsibilities of or proper practices for an individual or organization. - Related concepts = ethical code & honour code
- Etiquette - a set of customs and rules for polite behavior
- Companies - trustworthy , fair , honest & respectful manner
- shaping the professional publuc image and reputation of the companies.
Basic Grooming And Hygiene
- Hygiene - Fundamental hygiene ( bathing, brushing teeth, combing hair & clean fingernails)
- Grooming - to care for one's appearance - positive body language gives a good impression to customers - 55% of communication consists of body language , 38% tone of voice , 7% communicated through words - for poise & posture (deportment) = Stand tall , hold head high up and walk tall, briskly and with purpose , sit upright and alert, lean forward to show real interest , stand on both feet shoulder width apart
Importance of Maintaining a Professional Image
Employees with a positive self image :
- "I Care" image
- Customers will develop a positive and comfortable relationship
- relationship is crucial - occasional service lapse as the customers will be more tolerant and understanding
Ways to Maintain a Healthy and Well Groomed Appearance
- Rest - Sleep 8 hours a day
- Exercise - Regular exercise
- Relaxation - Ways to relax : = Close eyes and relax = Listen to light, instrumental or new age music = Take up hobby = Do yoga or breathing exercises
- Nutrition - Healthy eating habits combined with exercises
